Great Pyrenees Puppies for Sale

All available puppies pictured below are here in Oxford, Massachusetts

This is a large to giant breed, often going over 100 lbs. They are gentle, loyal, and good with children. The Great Pyrenees does not need a great deal of exercise and does surprisingly well as a house dog as long as he is walked regularly. But because of his size, it is recommended that he have a yard to spend some time in -- you wouldn't want a 100+ lb. dog getting his exercise in your house!

The breed is also referred to as Pyrenean Mountain Dog. Like the Bernese Mountain Dog, the Pyrenees is often used for guarding flocks of sheep in the mountains and prefers cooler climates. Once a year in the summer, the breed will shed its undercoat. Many owners recommend striping of the coat during this time to avoid the unwanted hair around the house. Although shedding is heavy once a year, Pyrenees shed throughout the year.

They do tend to bark and are often cautious of strangers.

Their average life is 10 years.
